Schoenefeld introduces itself
The community on the outskirts of the capital has more to offer than the Berlin-Brandenburg Airport. A new city is developing in the immediate vicinity. Jobs are being created and apartments, kindergartens and schools are being built.
Schönefeld – that is also idyllic villages, protected avenues,undiscovered paths and a lot of untouched nature.

In the heart of Schönefeld’s north, the community’s new center will be built in the next few years. About 10,000 people can live there once. In addition to new housing, social and cultural facilities, recreational areas as well as restaurants and stores are planned.
The basis is formed by the award-winning ideas of an urban and open space planning competition as well as the results of the urban development concept, INSEK, which is about to be completed.

With its immediate proximity to the federal capital Berlin and the airport centrally located in its midst, the municipality of Schönefeld exerts a great attraction on investors and business people. Well-known companies such as Möbel Höffner, Ikea, Amazon, Dachser and Deutsche Post have already settled in the community. In the coming years, additional commercial areas will be developed in the area surrounding the airport.
In addition to office and hotel buildings, such as here in Gatelands near Waltersdorf, plans include the construction of a university. Schönefeld will then not only be another facet richer, but also the level of awareness of the municipality will once again increase significantly.
